Magnetic Coolant Separators (MCS)

Barnes Magnetic Coolant Separators (MCS) is considered the standard for ferrous metal grinding operations worldwide. With over 11,000 of these filters in use today, many companies are realizing the resulting benefits of increased machine uptime, improved wheel life, reduced coolant costs, and better surface finishes on parts. The unique ferrite magnet design of these filters delivers up to 2½ times the magnetic surface of competitive units and the rare earth magnet filtration system units provide up to 5 times the magnetic pull of competitive units.

Features

  • Lowest Cost Cleaning
  • Bulk Removal of Ferrous Material
  • Primarily Water – Light Oil
  • Rough Grinding – Chip Making

Applications

  • Ferrous Material Only
  • Bulk Cleaning
  • Ferrite magnets for nominal micron levels of 25-35 microns
  • For a small premium, rare earth “super” magnetic versions capable of removing 98% of particles to a 10 micron level.
